9th Grade Cultural Geography

Welcome LAHSA Freshmen to Cultural Geography!

This semester we will explore diversity by looking at the world through the lens of geography. You

will learn how geographers use themes to study the world and then you will explore those themes for

yourselves.

Our studies will then take us on an exploration of Africa’s diverse land, resources, and people. We

will look at how different time periods and historical events have influenced geopolitics and its effect

on people’s histories. We will question why certain world trends are the way they are and learn about

the ways people have been able to make a positive change in the lives of others. Most exciting of all, you

will be given a chance to make a positive change in someone else’s life too!

In this class, we are a community. I look forward to learning from you as much as I hope you learn

from each other, and me!
