How to Enroll

THREE WAYS TO APPLY
 
Zone of ChoiceZone of Choice Application for students assigned to RFK Community Schools 
 
Open EnrollmentOpen Enrollment Application for students in LAUSD assigned to a non-RFK School
 
PermitIntra-District Permits for students entering from schools not in LAUSD
 
If you are applying through Open Enrollment, please call our main office at 213-480-4600 for additional instructions and help
 
Applications for LAHSA @ RFK can be submitted to the RFK Welcome Center (7th and Catalina entrance) weekdays between 9am - 2pm. 
 
Please note that due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, it may be necessary to call the office in advance (213-480-4500) to set up an appointment.

LAHSA is a non-auditioned neighborhood theatre arts high school serving grades 9 through 12. Most students live in the RFK Zone of Choice, a geographic area surrounding the RFK Community Schools. For students who live outside the RFK Zone of Choice, LAHSA may provide Open Enrollment. Please call (213) 480-4600 to inquire about open enrollment applications and deadlines.
 
LAHSA welcomes all students regardless of prior academic and artistic experience. 
Proof of Residence
Please submit one of the following acceptable documents:
  • Utility service contract, bills or payment receipts (Gas, Water, or Electricity)
  • Property taxes, rental or lease agreement, current rental receipt with address of property on receipt
  • Official government mail (CalWORKS, Social Security, Medi-Cal)
  • Current pay stub
  • Voter registration
Proof of Age of Minor
Please submit one of the following acceptable documents:
  • Birth certificate
  • Baptismal certificate
  • Passport
  • Court order
  • Health office/vital statistics record of birth certificate date
  • Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) letter verifying birthdate and an explanation of how this was verified

Parent/Guardian/ Educational Rights Holder/ Caregiver ("parent") Identification
Please submit one of the following acceptable documents:
  • Student’s birth certificate or baptismal certificate or Court order establishing the parent/guardian relationship AND
  • Adult’s government-issued photo identification (Driver’s license or DMV identification card)

Proof of Immunization

If available/applicable you may also submit copies of:
  • Transcripts or recent grade reports
  • Copy of most recent Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Plan
  • Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) 1399 Form or minute order
  • Department of Probation placement information and/or Juvenile Court minute order
  • Court orders regarding legal custody, physically custody, or restricted contact with the school or child
