Design Presentations for A VERY OLD MAN WITH ENORMOUS WINGS

In late February, 12th grade design students pitched their final designs for our spring production, A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings, to director, Corky Dominguez, and small panel of teachers and professionals.

The students worked in production teams of three – set, costume, lights – and created renderings, set pieces and light plots for 4 scenes in the play. They presented their design concepts to the director, supporting their ideas with research images and text from the play, and answered questions from the panel. This process mirrors what happens in the theatre industry and is meant to yield a dialogue between the students and director about their work and the design possibilities.

Stay tuned for the winning team whose designs will be brought to life in the Cocoanut Grove Theatre! A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings open on April 5th.
